Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs will give you the exotic experience you will remember forever. You can explore the rich fauna and flora of the park while hiking the trails, only to be rewarded at the end of the day with a well-deserved, body-stimulating dip into the hot waters of the sulfurous Poring springs!

The park is situated on the west coast of Sabah, Crocker Range, at an altitude of around 1500 meters and surrounds Mount Kinabalu, show-casing an eco-region of mountain forests, alpine meadows and rainforests.

A national park since 1964, Kinabalu Park was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site in 2000 for its biodiversity spread across four different climate regions, comprising 4500 species of plants, 326 of birds and 100 of mammals. The park features a Botanical Garden with an immense richness of endemic plants and many other species taken from other spots and replanted in the 5-acre garden.

Home to insectivorous plants and numerous species of orchids, this bio-abundant region is also known for the orangutans and the Rafflesia plant, the largest single flower parasitic meat-eater plant in the world.

If you do not feel like testing your limits in mountain climbing, but you still feel adventurous and have an exploring drive, Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs is exactly what you are looking for.

The Poring Springs region is named after a native bamboo species, and is located 40 kilometers from the park. The natural, steaming, hot, sulfurous spring is channeled into a series of man-made, open-air concrete pools similar to Japanese Baths.

The springs are well-known for their therapeutic properties, so there is nothing better than a well-deserved invigorating bath in Poring Hot Springs to fade away the sores and muscle aches of a long day’s walk in the park.

If you fancy relaxing in a steaming hot outdoor pool in the middle of the jungle after an amazing journey marked by the frequent sightings of exotic animals and plants, Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs is the place for you to go.
